Prayer of the Hours

(de-thy-ified... for the aspiring angelican in all of us)

You who at every season and every hour,
in Heaven and on earth are worshipped and glorified, O Christ God;
long-suffering, merciful and compassionate;
Who loves the just and shows mercy upon the sinner;
Who calls all to salvation through the promise of blessings to come.
O Lord, in this hour receive our supplications,
and direct our lives according to your commandments.

Sanctify our souls.
Purify our bodies.
Correct our minds;
cleanse our thoughts;
and deliver us from all tribulations, evil, and distress.
Surround us with your holy angels;
that, guided and guarded by them,
we may attain to the unity of the faith,
and unto the knowledge of Your unapproachable glory.
For you are blessed unto ages of ages. Amen.

Job Interview

I have a job interview today at 4pm, EST. It's at a bookstore, of all places!

I'm looking for good online resources that delve into the subject, discuss the divine tension and release of such prayers, the reasons, the history, etc etc etc.

Sick!

Hey guys, wouldya mind calling on the name of our awesome God for me? I got called into work tonight (which is sweeeeet! totally an answer to prayer!) and about an hour into my shift felt as though I was going to die... or pass out. It was horrible! I was the only one there and there were so many customers waiting. Oh man, it was a rough night! BUT, I started to feel a little better and soon another coworker came in to work with me for a couple hours and then a good buddy of mine came and chilled, just in case I felt really sick again. Thankfully, I only had to "episodes" and was able to finish the night. But! I still don't feel all that fabulous and I get to be back at work in just 8 hours! Whoa buddy! So, your prayers are totally appreciated! Please, let me know if you're praying for me, even if only for a moment. I want to thank God specifically for YOU!
